Meet a taxidermist
See the specimens lining the 'Bird Corridor' at Felbrigg Hall and hear from local contemporary taxidermist, Nicky Secker-Bligh.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
This year, as part of essential conservation work, some of the dioramas that line Felbrigg Hall's aptly named 'Bird Corridor' are being cleaned to protect them for the future.
Visit Felbrigg Hall on selected dates and you'll find Nicky Secker-Bligh, a Norfolk-based specialist in taxidermy birds, in the Bird Corridor ready to answer questions.
Find out more about the art and science of taxidermy and see several examples of Nicky's finished work up close, alongside some tools of her trade.
The bird dioramas in this corridor are an important part of Felbrigg Hall's natural history collection. Acting as a valuable record of the birds of North Norfolk in the 19th century, they also allow us to compare how species populations and habitats have changed.
