  • The path from the car park to the Windpump is accessible for pushchairs
  • Children’s lunchboxes are available in the café

Take part in an Easter trail

Our Horsey Windpump Easter trail runs daily from 28 March to 12 April, between 10am and 4pm, with last entry at 3.30pm and costs £3 per child. Pick up your trail map from our Visitor Welcome building. Find and complete the 10 activities that are hiding along the way.

Don’t forget to look up and take in the views of the Windpump and the sight and sounds of wetland birds flying overhead. Finish the trail and collect your chocolate egg (we have dairy, vegan, and Free From options available).

No. 1 Get to know a tree

Visit our small apple orchard and see how the apples are growing.

No. 33 Go cloud watching

Find a spot to lie down and look up to the sky and see what shapes, trails and colours you can see in the clouds. Can you make up a story about any of the shapes you can see?

No. 9 Eat a picnic in the wild

Why go home for lunch when you can eat in the wild? Pack a blanket and a picnic, or pop to our café to add to your supplies and enjoy tucking into your sandwiches surrounded by nature.

No. 12 have fun with sticks

Sticks are the best. There are so many ways you can have fun with sticks that we can’t begin to list them all here... For starters, you could make a wand, build a home for insects or create some arty patterns!
