Summer of Play: SEND kids sports and games with Smile Through Sport

Join us for outdoor games and sports activities designed for children aged 6 and up with SEND and their families.

Try out different sports and games with trained coaches. Each session will be adapted to suit the needs and interests of the children and young people taking part.

This event is free, but please remember to book your place. You do not need to be National Trust members to attend, and you are welcome to stay as long as you like afterwards.

If you are a National Trust member, please scan your membership card when you arrive. To get free parking, just show your booking confirmation email to the reception team.

Smile Through Sport is a disability sport charity based in the North East. Paralympian Stephen Miller MBE founded the charity to offer events, sessions, and education that help improve the health and wellbeing of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in the region. They support organisations, individuals, and families with a variety of services.

Accessibility

These sessions are specially designed for children and young people with SEND. Please be aware that the activities will be on a grassy field, and the ground may be a little uneven. There is an approx. 1.5m sloped incline into the field. If you have any questions about accessibility, please email crookhallgardens@nationaltrust.org.uk.

Show your booking confirmation to admissions, and they will direct you to the activity.

What to bring and wear

Please wear comfortable clothes and sensible shoes, like trainers. Make sure your clothing is suitable for the weather, as the ground could be muddy.
