Beneath the Canopy: Forest Bathing at Wallington

Join us for an immersive forest bathing session in peaceful woodland.

  • Booking essential

Through mindfulness, meditation and sensory activities, this slow, gentle walk invites you to pause, breathe deeply and reconnect – with yourself and the natural world around you.

Forest bathing is a calming practice designed to help you slow down and reconnect with nature. Set in tranquil woodland, this guided session combines a slow, gentle walk with regular pauses for sensory activities, mindfulness and meditation. Rooted in the practice of Shinrin-Yoku, this experience is not about walking fast or far, but about tuning into your senses and allowing your mind and body to relax.

Spending time in nature in this way offers many mental and physical benefits, including reducing stress, improving mood, boosting immune function and supporting overall wellbeing. As well as inviting you to immerse yourself in the restorative power of nature, this session encourages you to notice the natural world more deeply – helping you grow a sense of connection and mutual relationship with nature.

Whether you’re new to mindfulness, seeking a break from a busy life, or simply curious about deepening your relationship with the natural world, this experience is open to all – just come as you are and give yourself permission to breathe, be present and feel more grounded.

Ticket holders to this event will receive complimentary day access to the Wallington estate, giving you more time to explore and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Other

No dogs allowed. Whilst forest bathing embraces all rainy, snowy and sunny weather, it may be necessary to alter or cancel an event if it is not safe to proceed – this is most likely in the event of high winds or thunderstorms. You're welcome to bring a small foldable chair to use during the session. There may be some benches available along the route. If you have any mobility issues, we recommend you join one of our accessible forest bathing sessions which uses the accessible paths around the woodland and adopts a particularly gentle, slow pace, with plenty of opportunities to sit and rest. What to bring: a picnic mat or groundsheet, a non-breakable mug (if taking part in optional guided tea-drinking). Any other weather-related essentials (e.g. suncream, gloves, additional warm layers).
