Experience 250 years of spade making history at the last water powered spade mill, still in daily operation, in the UK. Engage your senses as you feel the heat of the forge, see the flames and hear the ring of hammers on steel.

What to bring and wear

Dress appropriately for the weather. Wear leather shoes or boots and clothing you don't mind getting dirty (Blacksmithing can be messy work). Blacksmithing is also thirsty work, bring water!

Other

£20 per person, Member or Non Member Tour is scheduled for 60 minutes but may run longer. We want everyone to take home their piece of work, which may need a little more time.
