Come and meet some of the team from the Framework Knitters Museum in Ruddington at The Workhouse & infirmary.

The invention of the stocking frame established Nottinghamshire as a major centre for the textile industry and the Framework Knitters Museum tells this important story, as well providing the opportunity for visitors to see the frames in action.

For their visit to The Workhouse & Infirmary, the team will be bringing along their Victorian circular knitting machines for families for have a go on, as well as explaining the history and story of framework knitting and its connections to the workhouse. There will also be a small display of hand-made knitted socks and hand-warmers to purchase. (The Museum's volunteer storytellers will also be sharing their traditional tales with Workhouse visitors).
