Isaac Newton changed the world at Woolsthorpe Manor. Here he took his first steps into a lifetime of observation, experimentation and discovery. Our team of enthusiastic and knowledgeable science communicators offer an inspiring experience to engage curious young minds.

Education group visits

This unique site is the ideal place to immerse your class in science and heritage. Pupils will develop their understanding of Newton’s scientific theories and learn about his fascinating life and childhood.

Using Newton as inspiration, educational visits here are about being curious, hands on and experimental. Pupils will explore their potential as aspiring future scientists.

Plan your visit

Groups can book to visit on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the spring, summer and early autumn.

All trips include a guided visit to the hands-on science centre, the Manor House and a workshop on forces and motion or light. Designed to help students explore the exhibits, test Newton’s theories and learn about Isaac's life.

Workshops available

Pupils will work scientifically in engaging, practical workshops; making observations, discussing ideas and linking what they observe with scientific principles.

Educational groups can choose between the forces and motion, or light workshop before the visit. During the forces and motion workshop, pupils can fire rockets or make windmills to test the pushes and pulls involved. The light workshop will encourage pupils to explore the light spectrum and other properties. The workshops can be tailored to different age groups, so please get in touch to discuss your specific requirements.
