Heritage Open Days 2024

Enjoy free entry for all to Hughenden on Friday 6, Tuesday 10, and Saturday 14 September.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event

The Manor opens from 11am-5pm (last entry 4:30pm) - where you can explore the home of Victorian Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli and learn more about Hughenden's secret role in WWII.

You can visit our Stableyard café and treat yourself to refreshments, lunch or even, if the weather allows, freshly scooped ice-cream! Then have a look in our shop opposite to take home a piece of Hughenden. We stock a good range of books, including Disraeli's own works, homeware, and delicious jams and curds for yourself or the perfect gift.

In September, our garden and parkland will be starting to show its autumnal colours. Choose from one of our waymarked walks around the estate, relax in the pleasure grounds or orchard or take the little ones to burn off some energy in our play area.

Explore Hughenden with guided walks led by our trained walking volunteers. Discover local landscapes and gain insights into historical connections and cultural significance.

Please note that all food & drink and retail items are purchased at own cost.

The basics

Suitability

Children of all ages welcome

What to bring and wear

We recommend wearing sturdy footwear, such as walking boots or comfortable wellies, and suitable clothing for the weather.

Accessibility

The gardens and visitor facilities at Hughenden are wheelchair accessible, and we have all-terrain wheelchairs which are bookable on request. Please call ahead to discuss any additional needs we may be able to help with! There may be steps, uneven ground and hills, so the guided walks aren’t suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs – but we can be flexible and tailor walks to suit your ability

Entry is free for all on Friday 6, Tuesday 10, and Saturday 14 September, but if you are already a member, please do scan your card as it helps Hughenden! Please note that last entry to the site and manor is 4:30pm.
