Join a guided geological walk through Hughenden, exploring how chalk, flint and clay formed the landscape from the age of dinosaurs to Victorian times. Learn how geology influenced valleys, streams, wildlife and the buildings we see today.

This is 3.5 miles (5.7 kilometres) walk that explores the geology of Hughenden, how the landscape there has been modified by natural processes, and how people have used the geological resources available to them on Hughenden's estate.
The walk will take you from shallow tropical seas of the Cretaceous to the cold depths of the Pleistocene Ice Age, and it finishes at the era of Victorian railways when geological materials could be brought to Hughenden from far and wide.
