Calke's Industrial Past: Brickyards and Limeyards Tour

Visit some of Calke’s hidden gems tucked away in corners of the estate and see how part of the estate was once a busy industrial area.

Take a tour of the lime yards and see some of the 43 kilns that are hidden away and off the beaten track, under the care of the National Trust. See how many you can spot in the vegetation. Visit the old brickyard (only open to visitors with a guide) and see the pug mill and partly restored Scotch Kiln.

The walk will be approx. 6km in length.
