'Wonder World: Earth' book trail at Calke Abbey
Discover the busy world beneath your feet this February half term. Follow a self-led trail inspired by 'Wonder World: Earth', hunt for minibeasts and uncover fascinating facts about worms and underground life.

Join us this February Half Term to uncover fascinating facts about worms, hunt for minibeasts, and discover all the amazing things happening right under your feet.
This self-led trail is inspired by Wonder World: Earth by Ben Lerwill, illustrated by Xuan Le, published by Nosy Crow in collaboration with the National Trust.
No trail sheets or pencils are needed. Storytelling sessions with crafts are also available and can be booked separately.

- Suitability
Fun for all the family but most suitable for ages 4-8
- Meeting point
The trail starts from outside the Ticket Office.
- What to bring and wear
Dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear, as it may be muddy in places.
- Accessibility
The trail follows level paths through the Stableyards and Pleasure Grounds. The surfaces are a mix of compacted gravel, historic flagstones and compacted earth, which may get muddy in places. There may be tree roots and some uneven areas. There are no steps but the paths in the Pleasure Grounds are sloping. There are benches regularly along the route. Sensory bags available from the Ticket Office.
