Hardwick Hall and Stainsby Mill are part of a landscape that has long inspired the people who live, work and visit it. By creating a Whole Estate Plan, we can design a sustainable future for the property which protects and preserves everything that makes it special.

What does the Whole Estate Plan mean for Hardwick and Stainsby Mill

The Whole Estate Plan (WEP) is a vision and management document due to be ready for consultation in Spring/Summer 2025.

We're looking to the future and planning the next chapter in the story of Hardwick, Stainsby Mill and its estate. We're inviting everyone who has connections with the estate to let us know what they think so that we can shape the plan together. The plan will focus on all aspects of our work, ensuring Hardwick Hall and Stainsby Mill are protected and cared for so that they can continue to connect people with nature, beauty and history for everyone, for ever.

How will the Whole Estate Plan be created

We are currently in the information gathering stage of the Whole Estate Plan (WEP). This stage will provide clarity on where we are now and provide research backed ideas on how to build a sustainable future for Hardwick and Stainsby Mill. No decisions have been made yet, and we will be regularly consulting with the local community, our tenants and the people who work, volunteer and visit our estate.
