Visit the Earthly Delights installation, then drop in and get creative with us!
- Booking not needed
- Free event
What’s the most surprising thing you’ve ever found in a skip? A shoe stuffed with sweets? A stash of rare comics? A forgotten work of art?
Now imagine peering into a skip and discovering something even more unexpected: a tiny, magical garden quietly flourishing on top of the rubble.
As part of Earthly Delights—the National Trust’s new immersive installation celebrating 200 years of Ilam Hall—you’re invited to create your own miniature “skip garden,” exploring themes of growth, renewal and the beauty that emerges in unlikely places. This hands‑on craft activity is perfect for all ages. Drop in, decorate, build and plant your own pocket‑sized skip using our simple template. Then take it home and watch your tiny garden grow
