Ilam Park: Drop in summer activities

Join us for a summer filled with creativity, imagination and hands on fun at Ilam Park. Each drop in session offers a different themed activity inspired by nature, history and play. All materials are provided, and families can join at any point during the session. Times: 10:00am–12:00pm and 1:00pm–3:00pm Price: Free, however we always accept donations Planned Activities 31st July: Make Your Own Roman Pot Shape and decorate a Roman style pot using clay and paper plates, with replica pots on hand for inspiration. 7th August: Make Your Own Fruit & Vegetable Garden Create a miniature allotment using coloured card, lolly sticks and deep butter trays lined with compost. Decorate and plant your own tiny fruit and veg patch to take home. 14th August: Make Your Own Iron Age Roundhouse Construct a model roundhouse using pre cut card pieces, raffia and natural materials gathered on site. Add pipe cleaner people and decorate your roundhouse to imagine life in Ilam’s ancient past. 21st August: Hobby Horse Trials Craft your own hobby horse in the morning using ranger collected sticks and printed horse head templates. Return in the afternoon to take part in lively hobby horse trials in the Hidden Play Garden. 28thAugust: DIY Ilam Park Windmills Build and decorate a colourful windmill using illustrated templates, card and simple fixings. Watch your creation spin in the summer breeze as you explore the park.
