We invite you to connect with nature and each other and join us for a traditional Christmas at Kedleston Hall. Escape outdoors for an invigorating walk around Kedleston’s picturesque parkland, then visit the Hall and get into the Christmas spirit, or cosy up with some comfort food in Kedleston’s Great Kitchen Restaurant.

Get into the festive spirit at Kedleston Hall this Christmas, with seasonal decorations, family adventures and magical moments to enjoy together. From exploring the beautifully decorated Hall to discovering hidden surprises along the Advent Trail, there’s plenty to make your visit special.

Whether you’re visiting with little ones or bringing the whole family together, enjoy a festive day out and make memories to treasure.

Explore the Hall

Step inside Kedleston Hall and discover festive decorations and sparkling Christmas trees throughout the historic rooms. Take a wander through the Hall and enjoy the seasonal displays as you soak up the magic of Christmas in these grand surroundings.

Advent Trail

27 November 2026 – 3 January 2027

Wrap up warm and head outdoors for a festive adventure along the surfaced Short Walk. Follow the trail to discover 25 Advent doors, each hiding a Christmas challenge, question or discovery for the whole family to enjoy.

With plenty to spot along the way, it’s a lovely opportunity to explore the grounds together this winter. Dogs on leads are welcome too.

Breakfast with Father Christmas

28 and 29 November, 5 and 6 December 2026

Make magical memories with a special breakfast with Father Christmas at Kedleston Hall.

On arrival, friendly elves will welcome you before you sit down together in the restaurant for a full cooked breakfast, with fruit juice for children and tea or coffee for adults.

Then, keep your eyes peeled for a very special visitor! Father Christmas will arrive with a gift for every child, either a storybook or activity set, and there’ll be opportunities to capture a festive family photo.

Breakfast will be served promptly after 8.30am. Afterwards, why not wrap up warm and head out to explore the Advent Trail together?

Safety information

The site is particularly muddy as we head into the winter season, so we recommend you dress appropriately with sturdy footwear for your visit.

Winter walks

Explore outdoors at Kedleston this winter. Crisp, cold days and early sunsets - the winter landscape can be an inspiring place to step out into. So, wrap up warm, blow away the cobwebs and enjoy a seasonal stroll in the Kedleston parkland. There are plenty of options available, across over 800 acres of parkland.

Festive food and shopping

Refresh and refuel at Kedleston's Great Kitchen restaurant and warm up after a woodland wander with a hot drink and snack.

The shop at Kedleston shop is the perfect place to pick up those last-minute Christmas gifts without the hustle and bustle of the crowds. There is a range of gifts with a selection for explorers, gardeners and gourmets. You'll also find cards, stamps and gift vouchers. Why not treat yourself to a comforting throw or scented candle?

Don't forget to visit the second-hand bookshop located in the stableyard. Pre-loved books make an ideal gift or stocking filler! The bookshop is open from 10am-3pm during our festive period.
