Get into the festive spirit with a moderate 7-mile circular guided walk starting and ending at Castleton in time to see the twinkling lights.

Starting at Castleton our knowledgeable guides will lead you up onto the Great Ridge by way of Odin Mine and the Broken Road. From Hollins Cross we continue East to Lose Hill, sharing the story of how Lose Hill came into the Trust's ownership in 1945 and the legacy of GHG Ward, who gave his name to its alternative name 'Ward's Piece'. After soaking in panoramic views of the Hope Valley and Vale of Edale, the route descends steeply before following farmland footpaths back to Castleton. Arriving around 3pm just in time to buy a cup of tea and cake, before taking in the sparkling sight of the Christmas lights which come on around the town at approximately 4pm .
This walk includes short sections of road, a steep ascent and descent and an uneven footpath. Dogs on leads are welcome but there may be some stiles. The walk is not suitable for pushchairs or prams.
