Discover the inhabitants of Staunton Harold after dark. As dusk falls, join the Ranger team to set up a moth surveying device. While waiting for the moths, head out on a torchlit walk to discover the other winged inhabitants of Staunton, bats. With expertise provided by our friends at the Derbyshire Bat Group, discover more about bats and the different species you find by watching them flying and feeding as well as listening using bat detectors to hear their unique calls.
Following your walk, discover what moth species are calling Staunton "home", with an identification session with the help of our Ranger volunteers.
Please note, this walk is weather dependent as bats and moths don’t like the rain.
