Eating and Shopping at Ironbridge Gorge

There are a choice of places to eat, drink, and shop across Ironbridge Gorge. Every penny you spend in our cafes and shops, goes back into helping care for the historic sites across Ironbridge.

Eating and drinking at Blists Hill

Start your day with a coffee or a light bite from the Welcome Cafe. Located next to the entrance, the cafe is open daily from 9am – 4.30pm, serving hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, snacks, tray bakes, scones and cakes. Ice-cream is available here between 11:30am-4pm. Seating is available inside, and there is a selection of tables with seats outdoors so you can enjoy a snack on-the-go.

We can only accept assistance dogs inside the Welcome Cafe but there are spaces to sit and eat outside with well-behaved dogs on leads. Toilet and baby changing facilities are also nearby.

The Forest Glen Refreshment Pavilion is located in the industrial heart of Blists Hill. Open daily from 9:30am – 4pm serving jacket potatoes, soup and one pots, along with light bites, hot and cold drinks, and ice cream! New main meals including sausage and mash and Pieminister Pies will be available from early October.

The tearoom hosts tables and chairs to shelter inside on rainy days, and space outside with tables and chairs for food on-the-go during your outdoor adventures.

We can only welcome assistance dogs inside the Forest Glen Refreshment Pavilion, but there are spaces to sit and eat outside with well-behaved dogs on leads.

You'll also find picnic benches near the canal and at the green, and a covered area with seating at the Madeley Wood Adventure Playground.

As you wander through the Victorian Town of Blists Hill, there are several shops serving authentic food and drink. Please note, that opening times may vary each season, so please check back when planning your visit.

Bakery - open daily from 10am - 4pm. Purchase loaves, small cobs, soda bread, gingerbread loaf and shortbread all freshly baked on site, and crafted using traditional Victorian-style recipes.

Fish and Chip Shop - open daily from 11am - 3.30pm. Serving traditional fish and chips with beef drippings to go. Vegan and gluten-free options available.

The New Inn Public House - open daily from 9.30am - 4pm. Soak up the historic atmosphere and enjoy a sing-a-long over a drink in this cozy, Victorian pub. Serving a selection of bottled beers, lagers and soft drinks.

Sweetshop - open daily from 9.30am - 4.30pm. Here you can purchase a selection of traditional, Victorian sweets including jelly babies, liquorice comfits, wine gums and more. Sugar-free and vegan sweets are also available.

Shopping at Blists Hill

As well as the traditional Victorian shops of Blists Hill, you can purchase presents for friends, gifts to take home, or indulge in a treat for yourself at the Ironbridge Gift Shop.

Located within the Welcome Center at Blists Hill, the National Trust Gift Shop is open daily from 9am – 5pm.

Find inspiration for gifts of all ages, fashion, children's toys, along with a selection of delicious jams, chutneys and ales. Why not pick up a new book or take home a souvenir from your visit? There is also a selection of local products to choose from.

Eating and Drinking at Coalbrookdale

Grab a light bite and a drink at the Museum of Iron. Open seven days a week from 9am - 4pm, the Furnace Kitchen at Coalbrookdale serves hot and cold drinks, alongside a variety of cakes, sandwiches, children’s lunch-boxes and ice creams.

Once an old factory, this venue has a unique industrial aesthetic, with plenty of space indoors to sit and enjoy a bite to eat. There are some tables and chairs outside to enjoy your food on-the-go, and green spaces where picnics are welcome.

Toilet facilities include a changing area, and an accessible toilet. We can only welcome assistance dogs inside the Furnace Cafe, but there are spaces to sit and eat outside with well-behaved dogs on leads.

As we settle into these new surrounding, we will be looking to increase the range of food options available.

Shopping at Coalbrookdale

Eating and drinking at the Jackfield Tile Museum

While the Peacock Cafe is currently closed, visitors are invited to visit the Tile Press Cafe just a short walk along the road. Located at the Maws Craft Centre, the Tile Press Cafe is open Tuesday – Sunday, 10am – 3.30pm.
