Discover what's on at Ironbridge Gorge this autumn. Join us for a family-friendly celebration of history, folklore and autumnal charm for All Hallows.

October half term at Blists Hill 

This autumn, dress up in your spookiest outfits and step back in time for October half term and our 'All Hallows' event. Discover the traditional folklore of autumn and winter as you wander through Blists Hill. See the past brought to life with tales of witches, ghosts and age-old superstitions in the Victorian town.

Experience the sights, sounds and atmosphere of the season, as communities prepare for the coming winter. Be immersed in a time long before pumpkins and trick-or-treating, and instead learn about harvest traditions and carved turnips!

 

Dates: Saturday 17 October - Sunday 1 November 2026

Times: 9.30am - 4.30pm

Location: This family-friendly event is being held at Blists Hill

Price: This event is free, but normal admission prices apply

Booking: We expect this event to be busy during the school holidays. Please book your visits to Blists Hill for this event. Tickets are released every Thursday morning for the next two weeks in advance.

Dogs: Well-behaved dogs are welcome on short leads, but only assistance dogs are allowed inside any of the buildings.

Enjoy a bite to eat

For a selection of light bites, drinks, and cakes, visit the Welcome Café open daily from 9am – 4.30pm, or for soup and hot pots, head over to the The Forest Glen Refreshment Pavilion, open daily from 9:30am – 4pm. There are plenty of spaces to eat indoors, with tables and chairs to sit outside. Please note that only assistance dogs are allowed inside our cafes at Ironbridge.

Admire autumn colour along the canal

Head out on a walk along the canal and soak up the vibrant autumn colours, spot weird and wonderful fungi, and watch the resident ducks forage for food.

Take a break from the wet and windy autumnal weather and discover the history of the Gorge at the Museum of Iron in Coalbrookdale. See the incredible crafts and creativity of centuries of tile making at the Jackfield Tile Museum. Both locations are under cover.
