On selected dates during Festival of Archaeology 2026, join a volunteer-led tour to explore the archaeology of Barrington Court and learn about how the estate has developed over time in the context of the surrounding landscape.

In addition, read about and view information and photos gathered about the archaeological finds and surveys since the early 1910s to the present day on an additional archaeology-themed display in Strode House.

The basics

Accessibility

The site is very flat with a mix of surfaces. There are grassy areas, flagstone and brick pathways, tarmac and some gravel paths. Please don't hesitate to contact the property before your visit, or ask in Visitor Reception on arrival if you would like additional information or support.

The tour will take place outdoors, so please dress for the weather.
