Step inside the ground floor of the house to discover crackling fires, an Elizabethan Christmas feast and a magnificent 16ft Christmas tree in the Great Hall, creating the perfect setting for a seasonal photo. Outside, add your Christmas wish to the wishing tree at North Porter's Lodge, then head to the Stables for warming drinks from the Coffee Pod and family-friendly festive games beneath the Coach House.
While you're here, browse the second-hand bookshop for Christmas gifts, write a letter to Father Christmas, and enjoy a winter wander through the beautiful gardens and parkland, all dressed in the quiet charm of the season.
As work continues behind the scenes on the ‘Saving the Staircases’ project and to prepare the upper floors of the house for their reopening in early 2027, Montacute House will be embracing a simpler, cosy Christmas this festive season.
