Active Ickworth: Social Walk
Join one of our new social walks and meet up with likeminded individuals as you enjoy a short walk around the beautiful grounds at Ickworth Estate.

Whether you’re looking to improve your fitness, take time to focus on your wellbeing, or meet other people, this short walk is the perfect opportunity to socialize with others and explore the estate at a comfortable pace.
This free social walk will be between 1-2 miles long and take roughly around 30-45 minutes to complete. Please note this walk is a group social walk and is not a tour. Due to the nature of the walk it is not suitable for dogs other than assistance dogs.
This walk will be accessible for all with minimal incline and decline through woodland routes. There will be a few breaks along the way to enjoy the views. The group walking lead will guide the group and adjust the walking pace to suit all abilities.
These walks are free to join and include admission to Ickworth Estate.
Pre-booking is recommended, however if there are some spaces available on the day, the team can book you on to a walk. These spaces are available on a first come first served basis, to book on to a walk on the day please chat to the team at the Welcome Point.

- Meeting point
Please meet on the green next to Porter’s Lodge Café, this is where your walking lead will meet you.
- What to bring and wear
Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for walking with weather conditions on the day. If you would like to bring walking poles you can bring these to the walk, but none will be provided.
- Accessibility
This walk is designed to be an entry level walk at a comfortable pace, some woodland areas may contain undulating ground. There will be a few breaks along the way to enjoy the views, and the pace of the walking group will be monitored by the walking lead to ensure that it is suitable for all abilities. Wheelchair users are welcome and are encouraged to join the social walks.
