Big Draw® - Hoo’s Up for Drawing?
Relax in the Discovery Room in Tranmer House where you can enjoy some mindful drawing activities as we celebrate the Big Draw® Festival.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Why not draw something that has inspired you from your visit, or simply enjoy the freedom to sketch, draw and explore your creative side. All materials will be provided, and you can either take your artwork home with you or add it to the gallery in the Discovery Room (where you will also see inspiring art from visitors of all ages). Open every day from 10.30am – 5pm although on some Thursdays and Fridays the room is also being used for Sutton Hoo’s ‘Artist in Residence’ Amanda Warren.
Are you inspired by the great outdoors? If so, head out into the walks at Sutton Hoo where you will discover some strategically placed chalkboards and a range of coloured chalks with which you can add to the artwork that grows there every day. This is a lovely opportunity to engage with the beauty of the site in a different way.
Perhaps you fancy the freedom to sketch at your leisure. If so, why not collect one of our ‘sketching bags’ from Visitor Welcome on arrival? These are stocked with A6 sketch pads, pencils and pens and provide you with the opportunity to respond creatively as you explore the site. Just return the bag to Visitor Welcome when you’re done (but don’t forget to take your art home with you).
