Discovering Box Hill

A shorter, guided walk and talk that covers the highlights of Box Hill. You will discover some of the Hill's fascinating and varied history.

The interactive talk takes just over an hour and will cover a range of topics including the historical stories, geology and conservation status that are unique to Box Hill.

You’ll see amazing views of the surrounding area and your guide will share how the National Trust team manage this site of special scientific interest (SSSI) plus the delicate balance that is required to both conserve this land and meet the needs of the more than 1 million people that visit each year.

Perfect for you if you enjoy being out in nature, meeting like minded people and want to learn a little more about what makes Box Hill special.

This one mile, mostly flat walk stays close to the top of the hill, There is approximately 40 metres of ascent and descent and there is some uneven loose ground and tree roots in places. No Dogs please Normal car parking charges apply. NT members park for free.

This is an outside event so wear weather appropriate clothing and suitable walking footwear.

Accessibility

Not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. Disabled toilet at the start and end point (Box Hill cafe).
