Experience the meditative benefits of sound with facilitator Jez Smith. Using a combination of instruments within the natural landscape, Jez creates a symphony of sound that immerses you in your surroundings.

Arrive at Winkworth before opening to join facilitator Jez Smith for a guided woodland sound journey. Incorporating the natural sounds of the surrounding landscape into his session, Jez creates an immersive experience designed to help you feel refreshed and grounded.
The one-hour session begins at 9:45 am on Sorbus Hill, overlooking the valley. As Jez plays, the sounds of birds and moving trees form part of the experience.
You will receive free parking for the duration of the session.

The arboretum is planted on steep slopes and hills with steps. Please be aware that paths become muddy and slippery.
- Meeting point
A member of staff will greet you at the front of the visitor welcome centre. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the event start time. You will be unable to join the session late.
- Suitability for children
Not suitable for children under the age of 12.
- What to bring and wear
Wear clothing appropriate for the weather. The path to Sorbus Hill is tarmacked. Please bring any mats, chairs, pillows, and blankets for your own comfort that you can carry.

Bat Walks led by the Surrey Bat Society will return to the arboretum where experts will guide visitors through the arboretum to the best areas of bat habitats. Observe, learn about, and listen to bats in their natural habitats.

Forest bathing is mindful immersion in woodland environments, engaging senses to reduce stress, restore wellbeing, and deepen connection with nature.
