Qigong in the Woods
Wisdom of the trees - an autumn Qigong experience at Winkworth Arboretum
- Booking essential
As summer gently fades into autumn, Winkworth becomes one of the most beautiful places in Surrey to pause, breathe and simply be.
Join Surrey Hills Qigong founder, Sue Llewellyn, for a peaceful morning of gentle movement beneath the trees, surrounded by the rich colours of the changing season.
Rooted in ancient Chinese wisdom and inspired by the natural world, Qigong (pronounced chee gong) is often described as a moving meditation. Through slow, flowing movements, mindful breathing and moments of stillness, we'll follow nature's lead as the landscape begins its quiet transition into autumn.
This is a season that invites us to slow down. As the trees release their leaves with ease, we are also reminded that not everything needs to be carried forward. There is wisdom in letting go. There is strength in becoming still.
No experience is needed. The movements are simple, gentle and suitable for almost everyone. Whether you're completely new to Qigong or already have a practice, you'll be warmly welcomed.
Together we'll wander gently between the trees to a peaceful woodland glade beneath the canopy and a breathtaking viewpoint where the autumn colours stretch across the landscape.
You’ll leave feeling calmer, lighter and deeply connected - to yourself, to nature and to the quiet rhythm of the season.
"I've never done anything like that before, and I feel so grounded, so relaxed and yet somehow so much more alive."
