Bird Watching at Chyngton Brooks

Discover the birds at Chyngton Brooks on a relaxed 2.5 hour guided walk. Learn to spot, listen, and identify local species while enjoying a peaceful outdoor experience. No experience needed.

  • Booking advisable
  • Free event

Slow down and tune in to the sights and sounds of the marsh on this friendly two-hour birdwatching session, open to all. Led by an experienced bird surveyor, this walk offers an introduction to the birds that live in and pass through this special landscape.

We’ll explore how birds use the marsh and surrounding habitats, learning simple techniques to spot and identify species by sight and sound. There will be time to pause, watch, and ask questions along the way.

This session is designed for beginners and curious nature-lovers rather than expert birders. You don’t need any prior knowledge, just an interest in wildlife and spending time outdoors. Binoculars are helpful if you have them and some will be available for the session.

The route is mostly flat and taken at an easy pace, with regular stops for viewing and discussion. Please wear suitable outdoor footwear and clothing for the weather.

Come along to enjoy fresh air, shared discoveries, and a new perspective on the life of the marsh.
