Learn all about Henry North Holroyd, the Third Earl of Sheffield, and his love of all things cricket. Hear all about how he set about creating a world-class cricket pitch, and how he famously hosted the Australian cricket team in 1896, along with 25,000 spectators and the Prince of Wales.
The Nationwide Festival of Archaeology is an annual event coordinated by the Council for British Archaeology.
This walks doesn't need pre-booking but is on a first come, first served basis.

Sensible footwear and clothing is recommended as the garden can be muddy depending on the weather. Part of the tour will go into the woods.

Part of the tour involves going into the cricket grounds. Because of the gradient and surface of paths leading to the cricket pitch, this may be inaccessible to those with mobility issues. Please call us to speak about this.
