Volunteer Ranger Days at Ty Mawr Farm

Help us restore nature at our National Trust site at Ty Mawr Farm through a variety of practical conservation activities.

  • Booking advisable
  • Free event

Ty Mawr Farm (near Libanus) is our Countryside Skills Hub, we have regular volunteers here who carry out a variety of tasks which help restore vital habitats on the farmland and in the valley. Along the way they learn conservation techniques and gain knowledge in the nature of the area.

Sessions are on the first Saturday of every month, between 10.30am-12.30pm and/or 1-3pm (come for as long as you can or like). Lunch break is at 12.30–1pm, please bring food and a drink, suitable clothing, including a hat and sunscreen (insect repellent is also advisable, depending on the weather).

We’ll be carrying out a mix of practical conservation activities including meadow and bracken management, wildlife identification and recording, tree growing, planting and management, wildflower seed harvesting and sowing, and much more.

This is a great opportunity for some family volunteering as tasks will be suitable for ages eight and up (children must be accompanied by an adult at all times). You don’t need any previous experience to volunteer, everyone is welcome to come and join in!

We have all the tools and equipment you’ll need, including gloves, spare waterproofs and wellies (but do bring your own wellies and waterproofs if you have them).

Ty Mawr Farm is near Libanus, there is some parking, please use postcode: LD3 8NH or What3Words: ///slicing.fluctuate.truth to find us.
