This Christmas, take a magical journey through over 700 years of history at Chirk Castle. From its origins as a formidable medieval fortress to its transformation into a grand family home for the Myddeltons for over 400 years, the castle is brought to life from 29 November - 4 January with playful shadow puppet theatres and beautifully decorated rooms inspired by Chirk Castle's history. Step into the East Wing, where the library sparkles with festive charm and the Reading Room invites you to enjoy classic board games like chess and draughts or simply relax with a cosy Christmas read. Outside, the gardens are full of seasonal wonder. Follow the woodland animal spotter trail and see if you can find some of the creatures who call the estate home, including hedgehogs, squirrels, and hares. Whether you're looking for festive fun, a touch of history, or a peaceful winter escape, Chirk Castle offers a Christmas experience to remember. From 29 November - 4 January the garden is open from 10am-4pm, the castle rooms are open from 11am-4pm (last entry through the door is 3.30pm). Chirk Castle will be closed on 25 and 26 December and 1 January.
