Open Doors Day
We're opening Tredegar House free of charge as part of CADW's annual Open Doors event.
- Booking not needed
- Free event
Discover the history of the Morgan family of Tredegar House, exploring grand state rooms, 1930s bedrooms, servants' areas Below Stairs, impressive Stables and beautiful formal gardens.
Booking isn't required but we are expecting it to be busy and queues may form to enter the mansion.
Dyffryn Gardens is also holding an Open Doors day on 7 September and is only 20 minutes drive from Tredegar House so if we are at capacity when you arrive, Dyffryn Gardens is another great option.
Times
The basics
- Suitability
Children are welcome.
- Meeting point
Please go to visitor reception before entering the house and gardens.
- What to bring and wear
Dress for the British weather.
- Accessibility
The site is mostly flat, however there are some steps in the house. We have created an alternative route for wheelchair users. Unfortunately, the bedrooms are only accessible via stairs due to the historic nature of the house.
- Other
Please note, prams and pushchairs aren't suitable for the mansion house. A sheltered area is available to store them while you're exploring indoors. We provide a mobilift for wheelchair users.
