Bring your group to visit Upton House and Gardens, see the famous art collection, enjoy the beautiful gardens or hear stories of Upton's history as a home.

Self-guided tour of the house and collections

During 2023 we are unable to offer guided tours within the house. We may be able to arrange for a short introductory talk outdoors; please ask for further details if this is something you would be interested in.

To give your group a more relaxing experience and to help everyone feel safe, the welcome team will issue you with timed tickets for entry to the house on your arrival. You can then plan how you’d like to spend your time with us at the property.

Our friendly volunteers will be ready to give you a warm welcome inside the house and to share their knowledge of its history, the family and the collection.

Please note, there are over 3,000 items in the collection and neither all items nor all rooms are on permanent display. If your group would like to see a particular collection item or room, please mention this at the time of your booking and we will do our best to accommodate you.

The Pavilion Café

Enjoy a tasty treat in the Pavilion Café, its décor inspired by Upton’s Long Gallery. Choose from a range of seasonal, home-cooked dishes. Our menu changes regularly, but includes light lunches, home-made cakes, tray bakes, scones and hot and cold drinks.

If you have any special dietary requirements, please inform one of our friendly team and they will do their best to advise you on the options available.

There's limited seating inside the café, so please be aware that your group may not all be able to eat together at the same time; we would ask you to split yourselves into smaller groups during your visit so that you have the best time here.

Free familiarisation visits for group leaders

If you're planning a group visit you can request our free Travel Trade Pass and you and a friend or colleague will gain free entry to over 300 of our places throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland for 12 months. There’s nothing quite like seeing or experiencing somewhere for yourself to help you plan a successful visit. To receive your pass, call 0344 800 2329 or email us at

Who is eligible for free entry?

Registered tourist board guides (on production of a valid badge), coach drivers and tour leaders escorting groups of 15 or more. National Trust members also receive free entry, so it is at your discretion whether to refund the entrance fee to members if you have included it in your package – this is not refunded by the National Trust.

Members must bring their current membership cards with them to avoid paying the full group rate. If any of your group would like to join the National Trust please direct them to our Membership page or call 0344 800 1895.

Good to know

We are committed to making your group visit to Upton House and Gardens a memorable experience. We therefore encourage your group to visit outside peak periods. We are unable to accept group visits on weekends, during school or public holidays or on event days.

Coach parking is provided in the main visitor car park, with advance booking only. Coach spaces are to your left as you enter the car park, at the far end, in front of the grass bank.

Any payment due must be made in a single payment by the group organiser upon arrival, preferably by cash or card. Any discrepancy between booked National Trust Members and non-members will be recorded on the day and the organiser invoiced for any outstanding payment. We require final numbers at least two weeks before your visit please.
