Join in with the celebration of blossom – discover a range of activities to get involved in. From events and crafts, to meditation and gardening.

A selection of blossom experiences are taking place this spring, created through local partnerships. From parades and picnics to blossom themed arts and craft workshops, there's lots of activities to get involved with across towns and cities near you.
This spring, the National Trust is encouraging children across the country who are aged 5 to 11 to celebrate blossom by becoming a Blossom Pen Pal. Complete three blossom inspired spring tasks, including a short letter to a new pen pal, by 31 May. Email the address below for instructions. Tips and templates are included and every child or group who completes the tasks will receive a certificate.
Join us for some blossom origami and papercraft as part of the North East Museum’s Late Shows.

Join Meanwood Valley Urban Farm for an evening celebrating the changing seasons in their Market Garden. Enjoy a tour of the apple orchard, craft activities such as willow crown making, live musicians and a performance from the Leeds Morris Men.
Join Roundhay Environmental Action Project for a vibrant community blossom celebration. Bring a picnic and enjoy craft activities, bird box making, nature activities, races, a plant swap, seed bombs, local musicians and a traditional blossom wassail.

Join a blossom bike ride this spring and discover blossom hotspots across Greater Manchester. Bee Pedal Ready has partnered with the National Trust again to deliver even more rides all over Greater Manchester to celebrate blossom and blooms. Choose from adult and family bike rides.
Step into a blooming, joy-fuelled soundscape and a bright blossoming installation, where voices from across the UK take root. Share a voice note of hope with our blossom characters and watch it grow into a wild, collective chorus, echoing through a playful Pavilion of Hope alive with imagination, mischief and shared possibility. This event is hosted by Wild Rumpus in collaboration with the National Trust.

Join us for a series of poetry writing walks as part of Bloomtown. There will be walks at Heaton Park, Castlefield Viaduct and the city centre guiding you through the blooming trees and plants. After talking you through the blossoms at each stop, we will give you a related writing prompt. First timers and experienced poets alike are welcome, just remember your pen and paper.

Join National Trust at the Whitworth for the finale event of Bloomtown 2026 on Sunday, 31 May. Celebrate the season of Spring through art, music and movement in the art garden.
Pick up a Bloomtown Map to explore over 55 blossom hotspots across Greater Manchester and 20 ways to connect with nature this Spring. From 11am-3pm there will be free family activities including badges, bling and botanical crafts with WONDERHAUS and storytelling with Gav Cross. Choir performances throughout the afternoon with chance to take part in a drumming circle with Youth Elements. You can also ‘Bling up your Bike’ with Bee Pedal Ready and take a ride around Whitworth Park.
This event is partnered with ReadManchester and Nosy Crow – pick up a free book and bookmark for the National Year of Reading. Find the finale event at the Whitworth Art Gallery by the Art Garden. You can walk through the park from Oxford Road, through Whitworth Art Gallery or enter the park from Denmark Road.
