An 'Autumn of Art' at Avebury
Avebury Manor Garden becomes a showcase for creativity again from Saturday 5 September, as we host our 2026 Sculpture Exhibition and a new collection from Artist in Residence Georgie Weedon.
Celebrating 10 years of sculpture
Our 2026 Sculpture Exhibition marks the 10th anniversary of the event, which has become one of the visitor highlights of the year at National Trust Avebury.
The different ‘rooms’ of Avebury Manor Garden will each host a selection of striking contemporary works, leaving visitors to discover something new each time they pass through a gateway or turn a corner.
Each piece is set against a picturesque backdrop, inviting you to explore art in harmony with nature.
The 2026 Sculpture exhibition begins on Saturday 5 September and will be open daily between 10:00am and 5:00pm until Sunday 18 October. Garden admission applies, but entry is free for National Trust members.

Ancient Pathways – inspired by Avebury
Our 2026 Artist in Residence Georgie Weedon is a local artist known for her bold use of colour and love for Wiltshire’s ancient landscapes.
Working mostly in acrylic, charcoal and canvas and paints, Georgie has spent lots of time at Avebury during 2026, drawing inspiration from the wider landscape, Avebury Manor and Avebury Manor Garden.
The culmination of her residency is Ancient Pathways, a new collection of paintings that opens in our refurbished Racquets Court on Saturday 5 September.
The exhibition explores Avebury across the seasons – from spring flowers in the garden to the shifting light across the ancient stones – offering a contemporary artistic response to a place that has inspired visitors for centuries.
“Avebury is extraordinary – every visit feels different, every season brings something new and the landscape, gardens and stones all seem to hold stories. Ancient Pathways captures the changing moods of the year, from the colours and textures of the garden to the vast sense of time and space that surrounds the stone circles. I want to create work that reflects the energy of the landscape and invites people to slow down, look closer and feel a deeper connection to place."

The Ancient Pathways exhibition opens on Saturday 5 September at 10am and will be open daily until Sunday 1 November.
The Racquets Court can be accessed through the Kitchen Garden. Normal Garden admission applies, but entry is free for National Trust members.
