Hallowtide celebrations in the manor house
600th anniversary Hallowtide display in the Great Hall
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
During the medieval period, Hallowtide was a time to remember the dead. It was a time of vigils, feasts and prayers for saints, martyrs and faithful Christians whose souls had not yet reached heaven.
We will be marking Hallowtide in the house with displays of traditional 'soul cake' recipes, laying place settings for the inhabitants of Brockhampton, flooding the Great Hall with candles, seasonal decoration and folklore interpretation.
This event is free, normal admission applies.
