Step into Elgar’s world at The Firs! Celebrate its opening with a vibrant viola–piano recital of Elgar gems and English classics. One day only—22 Feb 2026. Limited seats, unforgettable sound.

Join us for a special viola–piano recital marking the reopening of The Firs, the birthplace of Sir Edward Elgar. This special event brings together a beautifully curated programme inspired by Elgar’s lyrical world and the English musical tradition he helped shape.

Audiences will be treated to beloved Elgar arrangements including Chanson de Matin, Chanson de Nuit, Romance Op. 62, and the deeply expressive Sospiri. The programme continues with John Ireland’s evocative Cello Sonata (performed in a viola and piano arrangement), the charm of Vaughan Williams’ Suite No. 1, and the rich Romantic colours of Rubinstein’s Sonata.

Experience an uplifting morning or afternoon of music in the very place where Elgar’s story began. Seating is limited—secure your place at this unique celebration of heritage and artistry.
