Group visits are welcome at The Firs. These can be self-led, but parties of 15 or more can receive an introductory talk followed by a guided tour of the house and garden. Read on to find out more about discounts and how to book.

What we offer on a standard visit

Parties of 15 or more are required to pre-book and will benefit from:

  • Welcome on arrival with complimentary coach/ minibus parking.
  • Free entry for group leaders and Educational Group Members.

Making your visit extra special

For an additional fee of £5 per person you will receive a 30-minute introductory talk from one of our volunteers, with an option of the talk being tailored to your groups interest.

For £3 per person refreshments of tea or coffee and a biscuit can be provided and will be served privately in our Carice Room.

Want to have a private visit when we are closed?

If you would like to book a visit when we are closed (Tuesday-Thursday) there will be a £200 charge on top of the adult admission prices if not a National Trust member. This rate will mean you can stay at the property for as long as you require, and you will get a complimentary 30-minute introductory talk by one of our volunteers.

Parties of 20 or more are required to pre-book for a private visit.

Tea or coffee can be provided for £3 per person.

Who is eligible for free entry?

Registered tourist board guides (on production of a valid badge), coach drivers and tour leaders escorting groups of 15 or more. National Trust members also receive free entry, so it is at your discretion whether to refund the entrance fee to members if you have included it in your package – this is not refunded by the National Trust.

Members must bring their current membership cards with them to avoid paying the full group rate. If any of your group would like to join the National Trust please direct them to our Membership page or call 0344 800 1895.
