Bird ringing demonstration
Get closer to nature this half term with a rare chance to watch expert bird ringers at work.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
See how tiny identification rings help us learn where birds travel, how long they live, and how we can protect them. Watch birds being carefully measured and released, learn how ringing helps protect species and meet the experts who do this gentle conservation and wildlife work.
Bring your curious nature lovers to the Bird Hide on Sunday 22 February any time from 10am to 3pm and you’ll get to see it all from just a few feet away.
Wrap up warm and enjoy a day of winter wildlife magic.
Bird ringing is safe, and our team are trained to handle the birds calmly and quickly. Most birds are back in the air within moments. Please note that in the event of wet or windy weather, the event will be cancelled as it will become unsafe for the birds.
