The basics

Suitability

Everyone welcome.

Meeting point

This service takes place in the abbey cellarium. This can be accessed by any entrance - Visitor Centre (20 minutes) Studley lakeside entrance (30 minutes) and Westgate (10 minutes).

What to bring and wear

The cellarium is sheltered but still exposed to the elements - you may want to bring a warm layer. Please wear sturdy footwear.

Accessibility

There are hard-standing paths around the estate and level access from the West Gate entrance. There's a 15-20% gradient hill between the Visitor Centre and the abbey. Access to the abbey is across a level grassy green which can be impassable for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and prams when very wet. Search 'Your accessible visit to Fountains Abbey' to find out more about how we can support you.

Other

Limited seating available. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment. Well behaved dogs welcome in the cellarium.
