Photographer's Exclusive Event - Helios
An exclusive sunrise opening for photographers to capture the spectacle of Helios hanging in the ruins of Fountains Abbey
- Booking essential
We'll be opening at 6am on the morning of Friday 3 October exclusively to 30 pre-booked photographers. Numbers have been very limited to ensure everyone can get their 'shot'. Helios, a seven metre animated sun sculpture will be hanging in the floodlit ruins. There will be opportunities for shots within the ruins as well as through the window on the east side of the abbey as the sun rises. We won't be open to the public so photography won't be disrupted by torches and crowds etc.
Photography is for personal use only and cannot be used commercially. This event is suitable for still photography rather than video. Guests won't be able to bring in additional lighting and no drones. Tri-pods are welcome.
Please note: The artwork is made from a delicate material and even mild wind speeds might mean that we have to take it down. We're hoping for gentle weather while Helios is on display, however, if the winds pick up Helios will be temporarily brought down and the event will be cancelled to ensure the safety of the artwork and visitors. We won't take the decision lightly as we hate to disappoint you. If we do have to cancel, unfortunately we will not be able to reschedule the event. We'll try and give you as much notice possible.
