Enjoy a light bite or tea the terrace overlooking the garden. Peruse the second-hand book shelves in the sun room and choose a takeaway for your garden walk.

Outside dining

The tea-room has outdoor seating only, with a few tables, chairs and service in crockery available on the terrace. Alternatively there are several benches around the garden for a takeaway.

All indoor areas are closed in the house, except admissions, second-hand book room and the toilet. Kiosk opening times match the garden so you can drop in at the start or end of your visit.

What's on the menu?

The daily selection varies depending on availability of seasonal ingredients. Typically you can expect...

  • Home-made cakes and bakes
  • The latest scone of the month
  • A chocolate orange inspired option, or two
  • Toasties and sandwiches
  • Ice-cream and ice lollies
  • Hot and cold drinks

Gluten free and vegan options are available as well as oat and soya milk for hot drinks.

Please note: we are only able to accept card payments.

Remember your reuseable cup

You are more than welcome to bring your own reusable cup – you'll get 25p off your hot drink as a thank you.

Or borrow one for the day. If you're picking up a drink on arrival, ask for a resuable cup so that you can take it with you as you explore the garden. When you've finished, simply drop your cup in the cup bins provided and we'll wash and reuse them. Or better still...bring it back for another brew.
