Join us on this walk to visit Scammonden. Adjacent to the M62 motorway, this walk teeters around the edge of Scammonden Reservoir, taking in the wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, woodland, hills and rough pastures. This is a challenging walk suitable for experienced walkers. There are steep, narrow, boggy, muddy, uneven sections of terrain along the route. Sturdy boots and suitable outdoor clothing is a must.
This walk is 10 miles and will take approx. 5 hours. It is not suitable for children or dogs.
Please note that Standedge Car Park, located next to the Marsden office, is closed during September due to the Transpennine Route Upgrade. There is on street parking within the village of Marsden, but please allow enough time to park.

Meet at the Marsden office (Info Room, Station Road, Huddersfield HD7 6DH). Please note that Standedge Car Park, located next to the Marsden office, is closed due to the Transpennine line upgrade.

This walk is not suitable for children or dogs. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time of the walk so we can cover relevant safety information. Please wear suitable clothing for the changeable weather in Marsden and sturdy footwear. Please bring plenty to drink and snacks. Suggested donation of £3 which goes towards running these walks and restoring the moorland.
