Visit our new summer art installation created by local artist Jo Veal and our community.

Inspired by The HERDS project, a groundbreaking public art and climate initiative, and our grassland habitat restoration work, the butterflies will celebrate nature as well as sparking conversations about how to care for it. Delivered in partnership with Barnsley Museums and kindly supported by Art Fund.

This year at Wentworth Castle Gardens we have planted a 20-hectare field of species rich grassland that, once established, we hope will provide a vital restored habitat for pollinators like butterflies as well as other insects, birds and animals.

After you have enjoyed the display why not take part in our eco-warriors trail and explore the Gardens to learn about the eco-friendly work we do here and how you can help. Pick up your free map from the Visitor Reception when you arrive, more information on our eco-warriors event listing.
