Picnic month

Dig into your favourite snacks with a beautiful view and discover your perfect picnic spots across the gardens and parkland.

  • Free event (admission applies)

Bring your own picnic or pick up some treats from the café this June to enjoy in your favourite spots. Enjoy the simple pleasure of picnicking in the gardens, amongst stunning blooms, or venture a little further into the parkland.

Did you know the Rotunda in the parkland was built in 1746 as both an eyecatching feature and a place to take refreshments. Today you can enjoy the views of the house, deer and countryside from this sunny spot.

For those who are looking for a bit of me time why not take the opportunity to escape and dive into your favourite or new found novel, you could pick one up from our secondhand bookshop. Or why not pick up one of our free sensory trails to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells at your favourite spot.

Borrow a blanket from our welcome building when you arrive if you have forgotten to pack your own!
