Ways to volunteer

From lending a hand in the garden, to caring for our precious collections, there's plenty of different ways to get involved

Volunteers in the current situation

Volunteers have always been at the heart of the work of the National Trust in caring for nature, beauty and history and we are really grateful for your interest in volunteering with us. The impact of the coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) on the National Trust resulted in the closure of our places, and now our attention is turning to re-opening safely for staff, volunteers and visitors.

When we're ready to involve new volunteers, we'll promote volunteering opportunities here on our website. Hopefully we'll have a volunteering role that will be just right for you.

Volunteer stories

" What I like about volunteering at Kingston Lacy is that, having never really left my own childhood, I am helping other people to stay in theirs too."
