Cycling at Wicken Fen
Explore the wider reserve, local villages, historic Ely or take the Lodes Way to Anglesey Abbey. The routes below are all on our Cycle Trails map, which is available from the Visitor Centre or our Cycle Hire centre. Cycle hire open daily 16 March to 27 October, 10am-5pm (last hire 3pm).
Adult Bike: £8.50 for 2 hours then £3.25 per hour
Child Bike: £5.25 for 2 hours then £2 per hour
Adult with child seat: £8.95 for 2 hours then £3.25 per hour
Trailer / Tag: £14.75 per 2 hours then £5.25 per hour
Tandem: £18.25 for 2 hours then £7.50 per hour
Family Discovery Route
5.6 km - Minimum 1 hour
An easy ride suitable for all. Cycle along Monks Lode, with views across Baker's and Guinea Hall Fens. Look out for birds, highland cattle and konik ponies. Pop into Baker's Fen hide for a breather and to watch for wildlife.
Wildlife Watching Route
17.7km Minimum 2 hours
Venture further afield and enjoy the fen wildlife. Visit Tubney Fen and our hide overlooking new & wet grassland habitats on the wider nature reserve..
Village Explorer Route
22.4km - Minimum 2 hours
Learn about fen life and history by riding through the local villages and visiting their museums, churches & archaelogical sites.
The Lodes Way
25.7km Minimum 3 hours
Take the Lodes Way across the fens to Anglesey Abbey. Visit the house, gardens and historic watermill, Hoe Fen wildlife discovery area, or just relax with a cup of tea in the Redwoods Restaurant.
Historic Ely Route
22.5 km - Minimum 2 hours
Follow National Cycle Route 11 to historic Ely - don't miss the Cathedral, stained glass museum and Oliver Cromwell's House.
