Geocaching is a high tec form of 'hide and seek' using GPS to find the hidden caches.
Each geocache contains a signing-in book and a wildlife themed or similar activity.
You can download the co-ordinates to a smartphone or GPS receiver from www.geocaching.com ,or hire a pre-loaded receiver from the Visitor Centre or Cycle Hire building for £2.00.
For beginners we have a basic introductory trail featuring three geocaches. The trail is 3 miles and will take around 1.5 hours to complete.
Finding a geocache is No.49 on our list of 50 Things to do before you're 11¾. You can collect your 50 Things scrapbook from the Visitor Centre. Don't forget to collect a geocaching sticker for your scrapbook before you leave.
