There is currently no access to the beach at Ravenscar following cliff falls. The National Trust cafés at Ravenscar and the Old Coastguard Station at Robin Hood’s Bay are now permanently closed. See the About page for more information.

Dogs on short leads welcome in visitor centres. Please keep dogs on a short lead around livestock and be aware of cliff edges

There is a toilet available for customers to the café at The Old Coastguard Station in Robin Hood's Bay. In Ravenscar, public toilets are situated across the road from the café and visitor centre

- Cleveland Way National Trail passes through from Saltburn to Filey.

- Saltburn, Whitby, Scarborough, Filey for access to coast
- By bus
- Regular local services incl. Arriva X93 and X94 between Middlesbrough and Scarborough via Guisborough and Robin Hood's Bay. East Yorkshire Buses runs two 115 services daily between Scarborough and Ravenscar. NB there's no direct Whitby to Ravenscar service

About Yorkshire Coast
The National Trust cares for miles of the Yorkshire Coast, from Loftus in the north to Filey in the south. Our rangers and volunteers work year-round to protect this ever-changing landscape, restoring habitats, monitoring wildlife and looking after the paths that help people explore it. Along the way, you’ll discover dramatic clifftops, woodland and wildflower meadows, historic sites and a remarkable variety of coastal wildlife. Everything we do is about helping nature thrive while keeping this special stretch of coastline open for people to enjoy, explore and care for.
Closure of visitor facilities at Ravenscar and Robin Hood’s Bay
After careful consideration, the National Trust has taken the difficult decision to close our cafés at Ravenscar and the Old Coastguard Station at Robin Hood’s Bay.
Like many hospitality businesses, both cafés have faced significant operational and financial challenges in recent years.
We would like to thank the dedicated teams who have welcomed and served visitors at both cafés over many years.
