There is a toilet available for customers to the café at The Old Coastguard Station in Robin Hood's Bay. In Ravenscar, public toilets are situated across the road from the café and visitor centre

- Regular local services incl. Arriva X93 and X94 between Middlesbrough and Scarborough via Guisborough and Robin Hood's Bay. East Yorkshire Buses runs two 115 services daily between Scarborough and Ravenscar. NB there's no direct Whitby to Ravenscar service

About Yorkshire Coast
A varied coastal area with nature, geology and industrial archaeology interest. Discover breathtaking views strung out along the coastal Cleveland Way National Trail.
Visit the Old Coastguard Station located at The Dock in Robin Hood's Bay, overlooking the beach where you can get all your favourite National Trust hot drinks and snacks.
A second cafe and visitor centre can be found high on the cliffs at Ravenscar. Browse a selection of second hand books at both cafes with all proceeds from sales going towards caring for the coast. Free entry to both and dog friendly.
Proposed changes to visitor facilities at Ravenscar and Robin Hood’s Bay
The National Trust is currently consulting on proposed changes to the café and visitor information facilities at Ravenscar and the Old Coastguard Station in Robin Hood’s Bay.
Like many hospitality businesses, these facilities have faced increasing costs in recent years, including energy, staffing and food prices. We are therefore reviewing how we operate them to ensure our resources are used effectively and sustainably.
No final decision has been made. We recognise how valued these facilities are by visitors and local communities, and understand that the proposals may be disappointing. If closures go ahead, we will explore alternative ways to provide visitor information and help people enjoy and discover the Yorkshire Coast.
Whatever the outcome of the consultation, our wider work caring for the Yorkshire Coast will continue. Our rangers and volunteers will continue looking after walking routes and the landscapes in our care, restoring habitats, monitoring wildlife and protecting the coast’s important natural and historic sites.
Throughout the consultation period, Ravenscar and the Old Coastguard Station will remain open and operating as normal, subject to staffing levels. We look forward to continuing to welcome visitors and serve our local communities.
