Cevanne Horrocks-Hopayian, British Composer Award Finalist

In 2015, 575 Wandsworth Road became host to a two year Composer in Residence scheme, launched by the London Symphony Orchestra. The residency brought together and celebrated the creative work of Khadambi Asalache with one of today’s leading emerging composers, Cevanne Horrocks-Hopayian.

" Cevanne’s residency at 575 Wandsworth Road has encapsulated the importance of creativity to the building which is both an extraordinary home and an intriguing work of art. "
- Laura Hussey, House and Gardens Manager, 575 Wandsworth Road

In her first year of the residency, Cevanne together with LSO musicians engaged local communities in workshops  to bring a new perspective to the house and bring an understanding of the creative process to a wider audience. Cevanne meaningfully interpreted the house and artwork using materials created in these workshops and her engagement with LSO musicians to develop music which was premiered as part of the spring showcase on 11 February 2017 at LSO St Luke’s  at the end of her residency.
